V8 Supercar driver, Will Davison, was yesterday announced as the new driver for the Trading Post Racing team for the 2011 series at a star studded event in Tamworth featuring legendary country singer and 'true blue' V8 fan John Williamson.

Will - who has made the move back to the ‘True Blue’ Ford team this year after spending a couple of years racing for Holden - presented John with the very first Trading Post Racing ‘true blue fan’ shirt, whilst John presented Will with a ‘True Blue’ number plate.

The Javelin Australia team organised and ran the media call, with a special appearance by CEO Russ Feilen on the microphone to introduce Will and John – who arrived doing a ‘peely’ down Peel Street (a peely is the local term for a ‘wheely’ in Tamworth, with Peel Street being the main street).

The pair pulled up in front of Telstra’s Bluey to the sounds of hundreds of cheering V8 fans and the ‘True Blue’ soundtrack in the background. Will and John stuck around to answer a few questions from the media and fans and then sat down to sign a few autographs and have their photo taken with their fans.

Will then went on to Sydney the following day to conduct national interviews including on Sky Sports and Fox Sports News – on his announcement in Tamworth as the driver for the Trading Post Racing team.

The Trading Post Racing announcement of a new driver for the team was a huge success, attracting plenty of national coverage via television, print, radio, magazine and online. There were over 100 media articles that featured the announcement, with a circulation in excess of 1.3 million.
