Trading Post Racing Recruit

Friday 13 May, 2011

A national search has been launched today to make one lucky mechanical apprentice’s dreams come true with a year under the bonnet of the Trading Post Racing car in the 2012 V8 Supercar series.

A concept developed by Javelin Australia to help leverage Trading Post's sponsorship of the V8 team and promote their website, the Trading Post Racing Recruit search is calling on third year apprentices around the country to compete for the chance to work at the pinnacle of motorsport in Australia, for the Ford Performance Racing team, supporting racing legend Will Davison.

The winner will land a highly sought after job learning from the best at the Team’s Campbellfield headquarters in Melbourne and will travel with the team and be part of the on-track action at several races throughout the 2012 V8 Supercar Championship Series.

Head of Telstra Media Classifieds, Michael Padden, said he was delighted Trading Post and Ford performance Racing had come up with a unique program to give a talented young apprentice mechanic their big break.

“When Trading Post joined as naming rights sponsor of car number 6 at the end of 2010, we wanted to do more than put our logo on the side of the car,” said Padden. “Chances like these just don’t come up often, and we encourage everyone with a passion for working on the best cars in the business to give entering a go.”

Third year apprentice mechanics are encouraged to enter via the Trading Post website at www.tradingpost.com/recruit. Entries close on 25 July. A panel interview and onsite testing will be carried out to decide the Trading Post Racing Recruit, with the winner announced in the lead up to the final V8 Supercar race of the 2011 series, the Sydney Telstra 500.
