NAB has today been announced the recipient of a 2011 Australian Business Award for its contribution to the community through NAB Schools First.
Javelin has managed PR for the NAB Schools First program since its launch in 2009 and is currently helping to promote the third year of the awards whcih aim to reward and recognise outstanding school-community partnerships that lead to improved student outcomes.
The national awards program - which is a partnership between NAB, the Foundation for Young Australians and Australian Council for Educational Research has provided more than $10 million in awards funding to 195 Australian schools and their community partners in the last two years.
There is a further $5 million of awards funding is available for Australian schools this year - with applications for the 2011 awards closing at 5.00pm AEST on Friday, 25 July, 2011 at www.schoolsfirst.edu.au
A recent assessment of the awards by the Australian Council for Educational Research, the First Interim Report of NAB Schools First: Evaluation of the 2009 awards, confirmed that the awards program had “contributed to a significant increase in strategic capacity for the enhancement and growth of partnerships beyond that envisioned before NAB Schools First” (here to download full report).
The Australian Business Awards, now in its sixth consecutive year, recognises the success, innovation and ethics of Australian companies and organisations across all industry sectors. This year’s awards initiative received 928 applications.
