From Monday 21 February, NAB and The Alannah and Madelline Foundation (AMF) will be celebrating Buddy Week - an initiative designed to highlight what is one of the best defences against bullying which is friendship.

Bullying remains a major issue in Australian schools and a massive concern for parents around the country.

Throughout the week, a series of activities will be conducted across the week deisgned to generate further awareness of the issue of bullying and how we can all work effectiely together to combat this issue. Activities include:

  • Encouraging all schools to host  Buddy Week Picnics to allow students, their parents and buddies to celebrate the importance of friends
  • NAB branches selling Buddy Week bands and badges, with all proceeds going to the foundation's programs
  • AMF and the National Centre Against Bullying (NCAB) are running Buddy Solutions Seminars for teachers
  • PR campaign led by National Buddy Week ambassador Ruby Rose who herself was a victim of bullying in high school

Javelin is proud to be managing the PR for this program on behalf of NAB and suporting the great work that is being done by AMF in helping to create a safe environment for our children.

Coverage already achieved includes a feature in the Learn pages of the Herald Sun (Tues 15 Feb).
